It’s been a journey! I’ve crossed the pond along the way. Married, raised three children including twins, operated many businesses including an international one, and written professionally for the past 9 years. Hopefully honing my wordsmith wizardry, although I don’t write about wizards! And no wizards or AI are involved in my works.
Somehow I’ve found time and energy to literally ‘hands-on’ build several horse barns and our current house with my husband; competed and coached others at advanced level equestrian competition abroad; and been a horse breeder of warmbloods and Iberian horses for over a decade at our farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York. I produce Fine Art and commercial photography. And I love to travel and explore other cultures and lifestyles, light and landscapes.
I began writing in the U.S.A. back in the last century (love saying that). My first works were published in the U.S. in the early 1990’s and were horse-related ‘how to’ style pieces. Pretty much as soon as I began submitting I had articles picked up. My first paycheck was $70!
Since then I have authored thousands of horse-related pieces in over 260 different magazine titles worldwide. Some fiction with messaging, but mostly non-fiction. Mostly horse-oriented, but also travel, investment and restoration/architectural pieces. If you want to learn more on that please visit my studio.
My book genres are literary historical and contemporary romance, humor, and mainstream. I embrace the addictive way that fictional characters take on the story seemingly all on their own as I write. And the escapism and the humbling lessons that their journeys encompass.
Covers for my books are produced from my own oil paint on canvas creations. Well at least the Limited First Editions are…..so get in early if you want one of those copies.
It is a pleasure to meet you – and I hope you’ll join me on my forthcoming journeys and adventures. Wherever they may lead us!
